KABUL: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has voiced concern over the renewed military clashes between Kabul and Islamabad, urging both sides to exercise restraint.
In a statement issued early Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said escalating tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan could further destabilize the region.
The ministry stressed the importance of wisdom and dialogue, calling for disputes to be resolved through diplomatic means in order to strengthen security and stability in South Asia.
Abu Dhabi also reaffirmed its support for efforts aimed at enhancing dialogue and confidence-building between the two sides, in line with the aspirations of their peoples for peace and development.
The statement comes as regional and global actors continue to react to the ongoing clashes between Afghanistan and Pakistan over the past two days.
