KABUL: Foreign Minister Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi met with Alireza Bigdeli, Iran’s ambassador to Kabul, to discuss bilateral relations and key regional developments.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, the meeting focused on strengthening ties between Afghanistan and Iran, as well as ongoing regional tensions.
Muttaqi described recent actions by the United States and Israel against Iran as harmful to regional stability, warning that further escalation would negatively impact all countries.
He also appreciated Iran’s stance on recent tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan, emphasizing that disputes should be resolved through dialogue and peaceful means.
The Afghan foreign minister noted that bilateral trade between the two countries is growing.
Ambassador Bigdeli, for his part, described cooperation, particularly in trade as positive and said Tehran is closely monitoring developments between Afghanistan and Pakistan, supporting a peaceful resolution.
