KABUL: Trade between Afghanistan and Russia reached more than $530 million in 2025, according to officials from Afghanistan’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
Spokesperson Abdul Salam Jawad said total trade stood at $538 million, with Afghan exports accounting for $4 million and imports from Russia making up $534 million.
Key Afghan exports to Russia included raisins, mineral stones, dried apricots, cotton, talc, pomegranates, and grapes.
Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s imports from Russia were dominated by energy supplies, including gas, diesel, and petrol, as well as wood, sunflower oil, industrial raw materials, and wheat flour.
Officials noted that oil and gas imports alone exceeded $450 million, making up the bulk of trade between the two countries.
The figures highlight a growing economic relationship between Kabul and Moscow in recent years.
