Aid was distributed to nearly 8,000 families across five provinces

KABUL: The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations says nearly 8,000 returnee families have received cash, food, and non-food assistance over the past week with support from partner organizations.

According to a statement released on Thursday, the aid was distributed to 1,032 families in Zabul, 352 families in Nangarhar, 100 families in Logar, 1,000 families in Helmand, and 5,679 families in Kabul provinces.

The aid included food packages, cash support, health kits, and kitchen supplies in Zabul, non-food items and cash in Nangarhar, food and health packages in Logar, and food items in Helmand.

In Kabul, a total of 20.9 million Afghanis was distributed in cash assistance to verified families.

The ministry said addressing the basic needs of internally displaced people and returnees remains a top priority.
