Iran launches one of its largest missile and drone attacks on U.S. and Israeli targets in region

KABUL: Iran’s armed forces have launched one of the largest waves of attacks since the start of the conflict, firing hundreds of missiles, drones, and rockets at U.S. and Israeli targets across the region, Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, said on Wednesday in a video statement.

According to Zolfaghari, the attack, carried out as part of the 89th wave of operations under Wahda-e-Sadi 4 “True Promise 4” involved around 100 missiles, hundreds of drones, and 200 rockets targeting pre-designated sites, which he claimed were successfully struck and destroyed.

He said the operation targeted areas across West Asia, including what he described as “occupied territories,” with specific strikes reported in Eilat, Tel Aviv, and Bnei Brak, as well as locations hosting U.S. forces in Bahrain.

Zolfaghari also stated that a U.S. helicopter unit stationed at the Al-Udeid base was hit by ballistic missiles, resulting in the destruction of one helicopter and damage to others.

He further claimed that Iran’s naval forces carried out coordinated operations using ballistic and cruise missiles, along with explosive drones, striking key U.S. and Israeli assets in the region.

According to the statement, two U.S. radar systems and an Israeli oil tanker were also destroyed during the attacks.

Meanwhile, Israeli media reported that the barrage was the largest in the past three weeks, with air raid sirens sounding across the country.
