France allocates €2 billion military aid to Ukraine

KABUL: While Russian and Ukrainian delegations are engaged in discussions about ending the war in Ukraine, French President Emmanuel Macron has announced a new military aid package worth €2 billion to Kyiv.

Reuters reported on Wednesday evening that President Macron revealed this assistance while hosting his Ukrainian counterpart at the Élysée Palace in Paris.

He stated that the allocated funds will be used to purchase anti-tank missiles, surface-to-air missiles, drones, and other military equipment.

He also mentioned ongoing efforts for a summit involving 31 countries aimed at gathering military support for Ukraine next week.

This comes just two days after closed-door talks between the U.S. and Russian diplomats led to an agreement to cease hostilities in the Black Sea between Kyiv and Moscow.
