China’s president accepted credentials of Afghan ambassador for Beijing

KABUL: The Chinse President Xi Jinping, has accepted the credentials of Mawlavi Assadullah Bilal Karimi Ambassador of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan for Beijing, spokesman of the Foreign Affairs Ministry Abdul Qahar Balkhi wrote on his X account Tuesday.

“After presenting his credentials, the Ambassador of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Bilal Karimi held a meeting with Wang Yi, the Foreign Minister of China,” said Balkhi.

Mawlavi Assadullah Bilal Karimi, in December 2023, was appointed as the Ambassador of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Beijing.

Earlier, Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, accepted the credentials of the new Ambassador of China for Kabul.

Afghanistan and China currently have active diplomatic relations, and Beijing’s Special Representative for Afghanistan also participated in the ‘Regional Cooperation Initiative’ meeting held in Kabul last evening.
