KABUL: Mohammad Sadiq Khan, Pakistan’s Special Envoy for Afghanistan, announced positive developments in bilateral relations between the two countries following his visit to Kabul.
In a message posted on X on Thursday night, Khan stated that the progress comes after a long delays of high-level interactions between Kabul and Islamabad.
He also mentioned that, as part of this positive shift, trilateral mechanisms involving Afghanistan and Pakistan with several regional countries have been reactivated after consultations with Kabul.
Khan listed these mechanisms as follows: the Immediate Neighboring Countries + Russia format, a trilateral meeting involving Pakistan and China, another trilateral meeting with Pakistan and Uzbekistan, and a trilateral meeting with Pakistan and Iran.
Furthermore, Mohammad Sadiq discussed his dialogue with the Special Envoy of China for Afghanistan regarding the organization of a trilateral process involving Kabul, Beijing, and Islamabad.
This comes just two days after a Pakistani delegation, led by Khan, arrived in Kabul for discussions with Islamic Emirate officials.
