Turkey’s President receives Syria’s President in Istanbul

KABUL: President of Syria Ahmad Al-Sharaa, during his trip to Turkey met with the President of that country Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Reuters reported on Saturday,

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed various security issues including counter-terrorism, Daesh

 bilateral relations as well as regional and global developments.

Erdoğan announced Ankara’s lifting full sanctions on Syria and called Arabic countries to support Syria.

He called for the preservation of Syria’s territorial integrity and governance from a single authority, condemning Israeli occupation of Syrian territory.

President Erdoğan also expressed support for expanding cooperation, particularly in the fields of energy, defense, and transportation.

Ahmad Al-Sharaa thanked Turkey for its support and efforts to lift sanctions.
