KABUL: A coordination meeting was held, Tuesday at the Islam Qala port of Herat between Afghan and Iranian border forces, led by Brigadier General Mohammad Rahim Khadim, the commander of the 207 Al-Farooq National Army Corps, according to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense.
In the meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the country’s Border Forces Commissary at the Islam Qala port, representatives of the Iranian border forces, including deputy representatives of border forces participated.
“The two countries delegations discussed strengthening bilateral ties, border-related issues, and resolving border problems between the two countries,” the statement said.
The Afghan delegation has assured the Iranian delegation that the country’s border forces are ready for any cooperation in border areas.
The border forces of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan have recently increased their efforts to enhance coordination with neighboring countries.
