Over 164,000 tons of goods transported via railway in two weeks

KABUL: The Ministry of Public Works has reported that over 164,671 metric tons of goods have been transported through the country’s railway in the past two weeks.
Spokesperson of the Ministry Mohammad Ashraf Haqshanas stated that during this period, 121,655 tons were transported from Hairatan port, 12,764 tons from Aqina, 13,512 tons from Torghundi, and 16,740 tons of petroleum, non-petroleum, and other commercial goods were imported and exported via the Khaf-Herat route.
According to him, 2,960 tons of exports were also recorded, primarily consisting of dried fruits and pomegranate juice.
The Ministry emphasized that the increase in transportation through the railway not only paves the way for economic stability in the country but also creates job opportunities and boosts national revenues.
The ministry has committed to providing necessary facilities for further transportation and continuing the development of transportation services.
