KABUL: Qari Din Mohammad Hanif, the Acting Minister of Economy and head of the Assistance Mobilization Committee at the High Commission for the Resolution of Migrant Issues, has urged non-Emirati institutions to increase their support and cooperation for Afghan returnees.
According to a statement from the ministry today, Qari Hanif emphasized the urgent need for immediate aid and the provision of facilities for returnees during a meeting of the Assistance Mobilization Committee.
He stressed that donor organizations should not only provide immediate assistance but also collaborate in constructing housing for migrants.
Sustainable support includes building shelters, creating sanitary water supply systems, digging drinking water wells, and establishing schools and health clinics in migrant settlements.
This comes as the Afghan government is undertaking the construction of 35 settlements in nearly 30 provinces.
