TALEQAN: Provincial officials of Takhar have said that two individuals have been arrested with 60 kilograms of heroin in the province.
Nizamuddin Omir, spokesman for the Takhar police, said today that the counter-narcotic police personnel of the province arrested the individuals while attempting to sell the heroin.
According to the statement, the arrested individuals are residents of Takhar province, he said, adding that the police have initiated investigations into their case, and their cases will soon be handed over to judicial authorities.
Recently, the discovery and seizure of narcotics, particularly heroin, have increased in various provinces across the country.
Just two days ago, anti-narcotics police confiscated 44 kilograms of heroin in Badakhshan, Ghazni, and Nangarhar provinces.
