KABUL: The National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) said in a statement that a total of 5,196 foreign nationals entered and exited Afghanistan through the country’s airports and land borders during the months of Jawza and Saratan of the current solar year.
“2,901 foreign nationals, including 141 women, arrived in the country during this period said the statement adding that 2,295 other foreign nationals left Afghanistan, including 67 women.
According to the statement, 2,855 individuals entered through land borders, while 46 arrived by air.
Among those who entered, 467 came to visit ancient and historical sites, while the rest traveled for work or educational purposes.
The majority of foreign nationals entered through Nimroz port (1,849 individuals), followed by 470 through Herat’s ports and airport, with others arriving via Torkham, Hairatan, Aqina in Faryab, and Ishkashim in Badakhshan.
It is noteworthy that the National Statistics and Information Authority is responsible for recording life events and managing foreign nationals’ affairs, including their entry and exit, citizenship, and life event registration.
