Pakistan to expel 1.4 million Afghan refugees

KABUL: The Pakistani government will begin the expulsion of Afghan refugees holding “POR” cards, International media reported.
According to The Washington Post, the Pakistani government plans to send back 1.4 million Afghan refugees to their home country.
Previously, Pakistani officials had stated that the residency period for “POR” cardholders had expired, but they did not mention any plans regarding their expulsion or an extension of their stay.
The expulsion of nearly 1.5 million additional Afghan refugees from Pakistan comes at a time when the number of Afghans returning from Iran has sharply increased over the past two months.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Emirate has expressed confidence in effectively managing the return of these individuals, stating that it has already addressed issues faced by returnees from neighboring countries and has planned necessary measures for upcoming phases.
