KABUL: Following the Israeli cabinet’s approval of a military plan to occupy Gaza, Australia has urged the regime not to take steps in this way.
Australia’s Foreign Minister Penny Wong stated in a statement that forced and permanent displacement is a clear violation of international law, and such actions will only deepen and exacerbate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
She emphasized that Israel must abandon this military approach and respect the human rights of the people, international principles, and the safety of non-combatants.
