Powerful earthquake causes significant damage and casualties in Turkey

KABUL: A powerful earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale struck the northwestern province of Balıkesir and surrounding areas on Sunday evening.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya reported that one person has died and 29 others have been injured as a result of the quake.
Authorities have stated that rescue teams are actively engaged in the affected region.
Recent assessments have recorded the collapse of 16 buildings, with efforts ongoing to evaluate the full extent of the damage and to assist those affected.
