New Hamas Proposal: Withdrawal from Gaza in exchange for Israeli troop withdrawal

KABUL: The Islamic Resistance Movement of Hamas has recently proposed that it will withdraw its forces from the Gaza Strip if Israeli troops retreat to previously agreed-upon areas.
Al-Arabiya news agency reported on Wednesday night, that the Hamas delegation that traveled to Cairo has also committed to preserving the lives of Israeli captives held by the group if this proposal is implemented.
Sources indicated that Hamas has expressed its readiness to withdraw its forces in exchange for the Israeli troop withdrawal and has emphasized its commitment to safeguarding the captives’ lives.
The report also mentioned that Hamas is seeking a written agreement with Israel to secure international guarantees against the occupation of Gaza and to prevent the resumption of hostilities by Israel.
Furthermore, sources emphasized that Egypt is preparing a roadmap for Gaza, expected to be implemented by the end of this month (August).
This comes in the wake of Israel’s cabinet approval for the complete occupation of the Gaza Strip, prompting the Hamas delegation’s visit to Egypt.
