KABUL: The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development said in separate statements on Sunday that foodstuffs and cash assistance were distributed to 17,500 destitute families in seven provinces of the country.
According to the source, the aids were distributed to needy families in Paktika, Jawzjan, Baghlan, Parwan, Khost, Faryab and Nangarhar provinces.
Cash and foodstuffs aids have been provided by the World Food Programme (WFP) and through a transparent process distributed to destitute families in collaboration with the provincial directorates of the ministry.
The beneficiaries [who received aid] expressed pleasure over receiving assistance, particularly during harsh winter days.
The process of distributing aid to destitute families by international humanitarian organizations with the collaboration of the provincial directorates of the Ministry of Rural and Rehabilitation continues countrywide.
