KABUL: Following the deadly and destructive earthquake in Nangarhar and Kunar provinces, the leadership of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has ordered that all available resources be used to assist the earthquake victims.
Mawlavi Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, early this morning in a statement expressed condolences regarding the incident in the eastern provinces and noted that the process of aid and rescue for the victims is ongoing with full effort and resources.
According to him, the earthquake has caused fatalities and financial losses in several eastern provinces.
Images shared show that helicopters from the Ministry of National Defense have been deployed to transport victims during the night.
Additionally, some reports citing government sources have called for assistance from national and international organizations to support the victims.
However, initial reports indicate that the toll and damage from the natural disaster increase.
