KABU: Presided over by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the National Procurement Commission was held yesterday, the Deputy PM office said in a statement.
The commission approved some projects worth approximately 8 billion Afghanis, said the statement.
In the meeting, a total of 31 projects were discussed of which 25 projects were approved, while some projects were canceled and one project was reopened for open bidding.
Among the approved projects are the finalization of the remaining construction works of a 100-bed hospital in Ghazni province, completion of diversion tunnels for the Bakhshabad Dam, reconstruction of various roads in Kabul City, completion of the remaining works for the third phase of the Kamal Khan Dam, and a number of other initiatives.
With the improvement of the projects hundreds of thousand of people will be provided with job opportunities.
