KABUL: Spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior Affairs Mufti Abdul Mateen Qani, said that one of the attackers on Salim Payghir, a political analyst, has been arrested by the police.
Mr. Qani in an interview with Radio Omid, said that Salim Payghir was shot and seriously injured at his home around 12:30 PM today by two armed individuals.
The spokesperson characterized the attack on Mr. Payghir as having personal motives but did not provide further details about the arrested individual.
He stated that the health condition of Mr. Payghir is critical and mentioned ongoing efforts to apprehend other individuals involved in the attack.
Salim Payghir is a political analyst known for his active presence in the media and on social networks.
