FSB neutralizes Ukrainian operation to abduct Russian Fighter Jet

KABUL: The Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB) has announced that it has thwarted a Ukrainian military intelligence operation intended to abduct a MiG-31 fighter jet equipped with Kinzhal missiles.

Russian state news agency TASS reported today that the Ukrainian military intelligence conducted this operation in collaboration with British observers, with plans to transfer the stolen fighter jet to a NATO military base.

The FSB’s statement noted, “To capture this aircraft, Ukrainian military intelligence officers attempted to entice Russian pilots with an offer of three million dollars in exchange for their cooperation.”

The FSB emphasized that its actions have disrupted and rendered ineffective a well-planned intelligence operation by Ukraine and its British partners.

The Russian fighter jet was intended to be moved to the “Constanța” base located in Eastern Europe, Romania, which is considered NATO’s largest base.
