Six martyred, 42 wounded in Baghlan road crash

PUL-E-KHUMRI: At least six people were martyred and 42 others were wounded in a traffic accident in the country’s western province of Baghlan, the province’s police command press office said in a statement today.

The deadly tragic incident happened in Gollaye Panj area, last night, where a 580-type passenger bus skidded off the road and turtled, said the statement, adding that all the martyrs were men and children, and women are among the injured. 

The cause of the traffic accident has been attributed to icy conditions on the road, according to the statement.

The Traffic Police of Baghlan has urged all drivers to exercise utmost caution during the winter season due to cold weather and icy roads while driving.

The Kabul-North and Kabul-Northeast highways, which pass through Baghlan province, see a high volume of passenger vehicles daily.
