Fire in Mandawi Kabul: 10 warehouses and 8 shops burned

KABUL: Spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior Affairs, Mufti Abdul Mateen Qani, told the media today that a fire in Mandawi, Kabul, has destroyed at least 10 shoe warehouses and 8 shops.

According to him, the cause of the fire was an electrical short-circuit, resulting in an estimated loss of around $700,000.

Earlier reports had indicated that the fire broke out in a shoe market known as “Mir Ali,” located in Mandawi, Kabul.

The fire occurred at 4:00 AM today and continued for some time afterward.

Mandawi is considered one of the bustling areas and centers of trade in the capital.
