At least 11 Afghan nationals killed, 9 wounded in Balochistan, Pakistan

KABUL: At least 11 Afghans died after their vehicle collided with an oil tanker, with 9 others injured.
The Dawn newspaper reported this tragic incident early today, that the accident occurred near the “Nokundi” area of the “Chagai” district in Balochistan.
Reports indicate that the victims were part of a group of 21 Afghan nationals traveling in a pickup truck, allegedly guided by a human smuggler associated with an organized trafficking network, as they sought to illegally enter Iran.
Health sources near the site of the accident have stated that the condition of the injured is not critical.
Mohammad Sharif, the Chagai police chief, mentioned that following necessary legal procedures, the body of the driver was sent to Taftan, and the bodies of the other deceased, all Afghan nationals, were returned to Afghanistan.
He noted that speeding was likely the cause of the accident and emphasized that investigations are ongoing.
This incident comes amid reports of Afghan citizens attempting to cross illegally into Iran and facing perilous conditions, as several individuals have recently been stranded in snow at the Afghanistan-Iran border due to severe cold, leading to fatalities.
