KABUL: The personnel of the 217th Omri Army Corps of the Islamic and National Army based in Takhar province have rescued a number of residents stranded in heavy snowfall.
According to a statement from the media office of the 217th Omri Army Corps today, some residents of Takhar were trapped in the “Waghur Qol” area of Ashkmash district last night (Saturday night) and were rescued along with their vehicles by personnel from the first battalion of the 2nd Brigade of the Hazrat Ubaidah bin Jarrah.
The report mentioned that the rescue operation was led by Mullah Ihsanullah (Ins Aka).
No exact number of individuals rescued was specified in the statement.
Furthermore, officials from the 217th Omri Corps stated that efforts are being made to clear the snow-covered roads in Ashkmash district.
