KABUL: The National Disaster Management Authority, (NDMA) said in a statement today that cash assistance has been distributed to 680 earthquake-affected families in Samangan Province.
According to the statement, the cash assistance was provided following a survey of the affected households, with each family receiving 13,200 Afghanis.
The statement indicated that the aid was facilitated by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for the earthquake victims in Samangan.
Humanitarian assistance for earthquake-affected families in the northern part of the country has intensified with the onset of winter.
Yesterday, the Afghan Red Crescent Society also reported distributing cash assistance to hundreds of earthquake-affected families in Balkh Province.
The United Nations has also highlighted the urgent needs of earthquake-affected families in northern Afghanistan as winter begins.
