Shuang: ‘UNSC resolution does not reflect Afghanistan’s progress’

KABUL: In the recent session of the United National Security Council (UNSC), Geng Shuang, the Deputy Representative of China to the (UNSC) said that the council’s resolution does not reflect Afghanistan’s progress.

“While, in the past 2.5 years, Afghanistan has witnessed internal stability, economic improvement, and regional cooperation, such achievements have not been reflected in the UN Security Council resolution,” said Shuang.

He asked for world interaction with the Islamic Emirate.

On Friday night, the UNSC, in a resolution extended the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) mission for another year.

China, as a permanent member of the UNSC, maintains extensive political and economic relations with Afghanistan.
