Kidnapped citizen rescued; Abductors demanded $1 million ransom

KABUL: Mufti Abdul Mateen Qani, spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior Affairs, said today that a citizen has been rescued from kidnappers.
According to him, the kidnappers had demanded one million dollars from the family in exchange for the citizen’s freedom.
However, the individual was freed without any ransom payment due to the successful operation of the country’s security forces, who also eliminated the kidnappers.
Meanwhile, Haji Izzatullah, the kidnapped individual, stated:” After I was abducted, I lost all hope for my freedom except for the help and mercy of God. I express my gratitude to the security forces for their efforts in releasing me”.
This comes as the security forces have recently rescued a significant number of kidnapped children from the hands of abductors in several provinces, in addition to the central region.
