KABUL: Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, head of the National Disaster Management Authority(NDMA) of the Islamic Emirate, discussed various issues during a meeting with the Ambassador of Azerbaijan, Elham Mammadov.
According to NDMA spokesman, Hafiz Mohammad Yusuf Hammad, told Radio Omid that in the meeting, Mullah Nooruddin Turabi stated, “We seek good relations with all countries, especially neighboring and Islamic nations. Our humanitarian diplomacy is non-political; however, having trade and humanitarian connections can help solve major problems.”
He also expressed hope that Azerbaijan would encourage its donors to support Afghanistan’s demining programs through strong connections.
Additionally, the Azerbaijani Ambassador, Elham Mammadov, noted that both countries share many cultural and religious commonalities, which can play an influential role in strengthening their ties.
He assured that they are currently working on the plan for their development budget, aiming to consider Afghanistan’s situation as well.
