Roof collapses claimed lives of six children in Kandahar

KANDAHAR: The provincial officials of Kandahar said that heavy snowfall since last night has caused human and material losses in several districts of the province.

The media office of the Disaster Management Authority in Kandahar released a statement today detailing that at least six children lost their lives due to the collapse of a residential roof in the Karz area of Dand district.

The statement also noted that in several districts, solar panels of residents were damaged as a result of the heavy snowfall, rain, and strong winds.

It has been reported that snowfall has occurred in the districts of “Maroof, Spin Boldak, Shorabak, Registan, Nesh, Maianshin, Shawalikot Payan, Shah Wali Kot Bala, and Khakriz,” while rain continues in other areas.

Additionally, it was reported that yesterday, due to the roof collapse of a house in the Mandol district of Nuristan province, three people died, and two others were injured.
