Mawlawi Gul Hassan: Flights between Afghanistan and Russia to increase

KABUL: Mawlavi Gul Hassan, the Ambassador of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Moscow, in an interview with the Russian state-run TASS  news agency said this morning that the number of flights between Afghanistan and Russia is set to increase soon.

He noted that for more than four years, a weekly flight has been operated between Afghanistan and Russia by the state airline “Ariana.” Efforts are underway to also facilitate direct flights between Kabul and Moscow through the airline “Kam Air” in the near future.

He emphasized that efforts are underway to enhance mutual travel for citizens of both countries, which will ultimately lead to an increase in the number of flights.

This is the first interview for Mawlavi Gul Hassan since he presented his credentials to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Over the past four years, Russia and Afghanistan have significantly elevated their political, economic, and commercial relations, with ambassadors from both countries actively present and operating in Kabul and Moscow.
