KABUL: The Ministry of Interior Affairs said in a statement today that a notorious leader of a kidnapping gang, named “Khalilzad,” was killed in a confrontation with police in Kabul.
According to the statement, Khalilzad was a prominent figure among kidnappers in Kabul, especially in the Eidgah Mosque area, and was referred to as the deputy of Khudaidad, another gang leader.
The statement noted that the suspect was killed by the special forces unit “Yarmouk.”
The report indicated that the deceased was involved in numerous criminal activities, including murder and kidnapping.
Combating criminal groups and gangs to strengthen order and peace in society remains a priority for the country’s security, intelligence, and defense institutions.
