India donates over 100,000 doses of TD combined vaccine to Afghanistan

KABUL: The Ministry of Public Health said in a statement on Monday, that the Government of India has recently provided a quantity of 131 cartons of the TD combined vaccine to Afghanistan.

According to the statement, the vaccine includes doses for “diphtheria and tetanus” and is administered to youth, adults, and pregnant women for the prevention of “tetanus and diphtheria.”

Medical assistance from India is part of the humanitarian support the country is providing to the people of Afghanistan.

Each carton contains 768 doses, totaling 168,000 doses, said the statement, adding that the vaccine was produced in late 2025 and has an expiration date of mid-2028.

Previously, India also donated nearly 10 tons of anti-cancer medications to the Ministry of Public Health in Afghanistan.
