KABUL: Chaired by the Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate, Mullah Mohamad Hassan Akhund, the nineteenth Cabinet Meeting, was held on Monday, discussing some issues on the agenda, Arg said in a statement.
The cabinet meeting briefly discussed the prevention of traffic accidents and the control and monitoring of vehicle speed.
The cabinet meeting, tasked the Ministry of Interior Affairs jointly with the Supreme Court, Ministry of Transportation and Civil Aviation, and Public Works to develop a comprehensive plan for control of traffic and monitoring speed of vehicles on highways.
Also, a delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs, Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi and representatives of the Ministries of Interior Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, Urban Development and Housing, Border and Tribal Affairs, General Directorate of Intelligence, and National Statistics Authority was formed to stabilize the boundaries of districts and submit their reports to the Prime Minister’s office.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Economy was instructed to clearly inform NGOs that they cannot hire any government employee who does not meet the legal requirements.
The decision to stabilize and control vehicle speed on highways was made in the cabinet meeting, while yesterday, as a result of a traffic accident in Helmand over 20 people lost their lives and nearly 40 people injured.
