KABUL: The Mexican military has announced that Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera, one of the country’s most powerful drug traffickers, was killed in a military operation.
The French news agency reports today, following Oseguera’s death, armed individuals in Mexico ignited vehicles on the roads, blocking 20 highways and sparking a wave of violence.
In a statement, the Mexican military revealed that Oseguera, the 59-year-old leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, was wounded in Topalpa and died during transport via helicopter to a hospital.
In retaliation for this event, armed individuals set fire to trucks in Jalisco, blocking 20 major roads to traffic.
