Medvedev: Nuclear talks were a cover for U.S. attack on Iran

KABUL: Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, in reaction to the large-scale U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran, claimed that nuclear negotiations between Tehran and Washington served as a cover for the attack.
In a post published Saturday on X, Medvedev said that while the United States is 249 years old, the Persian Empire of Iran has a history dating back 2,500 years.
He questioned who, in light of that history, would show greater patience toward a tragic end for an adversary, adding that the real outcome will become clear in the next 100 years.
His remarks come as the United States and Israel launched extensive strikes on Iran while nuclear talks between Washington and Tehran had not formally concluded.
