Pakistani shelling hits civilian home in Nangarhar

JALALABAD: The provincial officials of Nangarhar say that following the Pakistani military forces’ attack on civilian areas, they have targeted a residential house in the province.

According to a statement released Tuesday, by the provincial governor’s media office, a civilian home in the village of Sharmakhi in Nazian district was hit around midnight on Monday by an artillery shell allegedly fired by Pakistani forces.

The statement said the homeowner, identified as Niaz Mohammad, was injured in the incident and his family suffered losses as a result of the strike.

The incident follows a similar attack reported a day earlier in Kunar, where at least three children were killed and four others wounded after shelling struck a settlement of returning Afghan migrants.
