KABUL: An international human rights organization has condemned a reported strike on a drug rehabilitation hospital in Kabul and called for a global investigation into the incident.
In a statement, the Human Rights Watch expressed deep concern over the attack, which it said targeted a medical facility dedicated to rehabilitation and humanitarian services.
The group said such facilities should never be targeted in conflict and urged independent international investigations into the incident.
It also called for urgent measures to ensure the protection of medical centers and demanded accountability for those responsible for the reported strike.
The statement also called for questioning the perpetrators of last night’s attack.
The attack, according to the Afghan officials was carried out by the Pakistani military regime, reportedly took place overnight and claimed the lives of hundreds of patients and wounded dozens of others at the facility.
