KABUL: The provincial officials of Kandahar say heavy rainfall and flooding overnight have caused significant financial losses for hundreds of families across the province.
According to the provincial disaster management department, 15 families were affected in Arghandab district, 150 in Daman district, and 170 in Zherai district.
The statement added that around 250 homes in different parts of Kandahar city were either completely or partially destroyed, leaving at least 200 families displaced.
Officials said assessment teams have been deployed to affected areas to evaluate damages and coordinate assistance for vulnerable households.
