KABUL: Afghanistan’s Standard and Quality Authority has returned another shipment of low-quality construction materials to Iran.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Afghanistan Standards and Quality Authority said the consignment contained 40 tons of angle steel.
According to the statement, the materials were rejected after comprehensive inspections and quality checks found them non-compliant with domestic standards and were sent back through the Islam Qala border crossing.
Officials emphasized that quality control measures are being strictly and transparently enforced at all border points, with no tolerance for goods deemed harmful to the public or market.
The authority also urged traders to adhere to national standards in their imports and to uphold their responsibilities in maintaining a safe and reliable marketplace.
