KABUL: Security forces in Sar-e-Pul province say two suspected kidnappers have been arrested and a kidnapped girl rescued during a series of intelligence-led operations.
According to Hafiz Naqibullah Alamyar, spokesperson for the provincial police command, the suspects were detained following coordinated operations in the region.
Police said the suspects had recently abducted a girl from Balkh province and transferred her to the Sancharak District of Sar-e-Pul, where she was later freed during the operation.
Officials confirmed that an investigation into the case is ongoing and that the suspects will be handed over to judicial institutions after initial inquiries.
Officials emphasized that combating kidnapping networks remains a top priority for Afghanistan’s security and intelligence forces.
