Health Ministry, RHDO signs agreement to expand healthcare services in Balkh

KABUL: Afghanistan’s Ministry of Public Health has signed a contract worth $456,136 with RHDO to strengthen and expand healthcare services in Balkh province.

According to a ministry statement, the agreement will run for nearly one year and aims to improve the quality of healthcare, increase access, and reduce public health challenges in the province.

Under the contract, around 40,950 residents are expected to benefit from services provided through a 50-bed infectious diseases hospital.

Officials say the project will also create employment opportunities for dozens of people.

The ministry has previously signed similar agreements in other provinces as part of broader efforts to enhance healthcare delivery across Afghanistan.
