Minister Delawar, Uzbek authorities discussed latest development in TAPI

KABUL: The Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum Shaikh Shahabuddin Delawar, met with the Turkmen ambassador to Kabul Hoja Ovezov and Muhammetmyrat Amanov, Chief Executive of the TAPI Pipeline project, here in his office, the ministry said in a statement the other day.

At the meeting, participants discussed the latest developments in the progress of the TAPI (Turkmenistan- Afghanistan- Pakistan- India) project.

The Chief Executive of the TAPI project expressed gratitude over the progress of the preliminary work of the TAPI project inside Afghanistan, according to the statement.

In the meeting, the Turkmen ambassador also provided information about the achievements of the recent trip of the Afghan delegation to his country and added that to pursue the agreement of this trip, a delegation from Turkmenistan will visit Herat province soon.

 “Preliminary work on the TAPI project has intensified and soon practical work on the project will be started,” the statement quoted Minister Delawar as saying.

With the takeover of the country, the neighboring country of Uzbekistan has expanded its political and trade relations with Afghanistan.
