KABUL: The Ministry of Justice says the law governing the distribution and sale of state-owned land, as well as the issuance of construction permits, has been officially published following ratification by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the ministry said the law was published in the official Gazette no, 1487 on the 28th of Ramadan, 1447 in the Islamic lunar calendar (2025).
According to the ministry, the law on the sale and distribution of state-owned residential and commercial land plots, and the issuance of building construction permits, consists of a preamble, four sections, six chapters, and 38 articles.
The statement added that the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing, municipalities, and the Land Authority under the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock are responsible for implementing the law.
The legislation outlines procedures for determining the prices of residential and commercial land plots, the process for distributing such plots, issuing ownership deeds, conditions for reclaiming residential and commercial land, and other related regulations,” said the ministry.
The Ministry of Justice added that efforts to draft, organize, and ratify laws and legislative documents for government institutions are continuing.
