KABUL: The Ghazni provincial director of information and culture, Mullah Hamidullah Nisar, has rejected reports claiming that airstrikes or drone attacks targeted the city, describing the claims as “false rumors.”
He said some Western media outlets were acting as propaganda tools for opponents of Afghanistan’s Islamic system and people by publishing “false and fabricated” reports aimed at creating public confusion.
He also urged security forces and residents of Ghazni to identify individuals spreading what he described as anti-security propaganda and hand them over to legal authorities in order to prevent the deliberate or unintentional dissemination of such information.
The remarks come after recent rumors circulated on social media alleging that Ghazni had come under aerial attack.
