Afghan Higher Education Minister Meets Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister

KABUL: Minister of Higher Education, Shaikh Neda Mohammad Nadeem, on the sidelines of the 11th “Russia–Islamic World” forum has met with Oleg Korobchenko, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, during his visit to the region.

The ministry said in a statement Thursday that the talks focused on bilateral industrial and trade relations between Afghanistan and Tatarstan. Several Tatarstan investors and company representatives, including officials from “Tat Em Farm” in the food and medical products sector and “TNG Group” in the oil and gas sector, also attended the meeting.

Korobchenko said Tatarstan investors are prepared to invest in Afghanistan and expand trade relations with the country.

The statement added that Nadeem instructed the technical teams accompanying his delegation to visit factories and companies in Tatarstan, review their operations, and gather information and expertise relevant to Afghanistan’s domestic needs.

A joint IEA delegation traveled to Tatarstan earlier this week to participate in the 11th “Russia–Islamic World” forum.
