KABUL: At least one person was killed and 34 firefighters and emergency responders were injured following explosions at a shipbuilding facility in the New York City borough of Staten Island, according to reports.
The New York Times reported that the explosions occurred while firefighters were conducting operations to extinguish a fire aboard a vessel at the facility, after which the situation further escalated.
Local officials said an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the incident, while most of the injured were transferred to medical centers for treatment.
