KABUL: Richard Lindsay, the United Kingdom’s special envoy, met with Qari Din Mohammad Hanif to discuss support for returning refugees and other key issues, according to Afghanistan’s Ministry of Economy.
The ministry said the meeting also covered economic cooperation, support for the private sector, and the continuation of humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people.
According to the statement, Lindsay said the United Kingdom has allocated €1.5 million in assistance for the people of Afghanistan and remains committed to supporting Afghans.
Meanwhile, Qari Hanif emphasized the release of Afghanistan’s frozen assets and the creation of employment opportunities, saying stronger development programs would help achieve economic self-sufficiency and reduce reliance on foreign aid.
